The Department of Basic Science plays a vital role, offering instruction in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the various core branches of engineering, and is devoted to foster the understanding of basic scientific principles. This Department has a special mission to foster collaborative, interdisciplinary knowledge in different areas of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, that will address the future needs of the society.
The Basic science department has highly qualified and experienced staff. The physics and chemistry laboratories have modern equipment’s and apparatus which are required for engineering curriculum.
Faculty members of basic science department have published the papers in national and international journals and actively participating in national and international conferences and seminars.
The department of Basic science was established in 1997 and is currently headed by Dr. Anjankumar H and supported by 6 Assistant Professors.

The department offers more than the required number of laboratories, all equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure and high-performance computers running both Windows and Linux. Each system has broadband internet access, creating an ideal environment for learning, teaching, and research. Students benefit from dedicated one-to-one computing facilities in well-equipped labs with all necessary software. Additionally, hacker and maker spaces are available for students to explore innovative ideas and potential start-up projects. Plans are also in place to introduce additional advanced labs in the coming academic years, beyond the standard curriculum.
